Here's 1 post by Victor Martinez,winner of last year's Arnold Classic and 2nd in Mr.O 2007.
"A couple of year ago, I was in the same boat as you.I was trying to fulfill two worlds, a normal lifestyle and a bodybuilding lifestyle. Unfortunately, ours is a sport that you can't do halfway, unless you want halfway results. And if that's going to be the case, why bother right? ....
Bodybuilding is hard enough without adding outside distractions,so you need to make a choice.I made the decision a few years ago to stop trying to balance two disparate lifestyles. To be the best bodybuilder I could be,I knew I had to dedicate myself to this sport and let nothing get in my way. This means saying adios to a social life. It may sound extremely harsh, but I don't see how you can have a normal social life and be in this sport, at least not to the degree that I'm talking about. So I adopted a bunker mentality. I shut myself in my house and left only to train or take care of business. There was no more hanging out or nothing. I became a recluse. I had to go to that extreme to break away from my previous life. It was hard, but my bodybuilding went up to the next level....
As for the friends who put you down because they can't comprehend your dedication, who the hell needs them?If they can't support you, they're not really your friends, are they?Real friends will stand by you no matter what.Don't let those phonies bring you down. "
Ok with that quote I'll like to tell all my friends who are hoping to spot "21" biceps and "60" chest. If you want to be as big as your idol then you got to really consider about being a social recluse. It's not shutting the doors to reality. It's just the swapping of priorities.Fix your dates with your friends/family at fixed time slots. If it conflicts with a training session, then apologize to them and say you can't make it.
Nothing much personal to talk about today. So have a nice day to every1 who even bother to read this post. =)
